I am Bella Eldar, an Israeli ceramic artist, born in the previous century in Russia.
My journey has carried me from “a land that devours its inhabitants” to “a land flowing with milk and honey

In my art, I explore the theme of boundaries — transitions, changes, metamorphoses. For me, a boundary is both a line of contact and a line of separation: the place where opposites meet and transformation becomes possible.

As Yuri Lotman wrote, “culture knows itself at the boundary”: it is at the threshold, between languages, traditions, customs, and histories, that I discover my own voice.

With my hands in clay, I unfold boundaries into a tangible world of metamorphosis and transitions — a reality more vivid than reality itself.
