A Garden Locked
I was first exposed to Israeli current affairs between 2014 and 2016. At that time, the construction of the separation barrier was a pressing issue, along with recurring breaches of the already existing fence. In my mind’s eye, I saw a locked garden—like an island surrounded by a wall, one without a gate, with no exit and no entrance.
There was another wall, disguised as Dr. Plague—a reference to the solution medieval doctors offered during the plague: quarantine. There were several other walls as well.
This series has never been exhibited.
